What a Ride

Sunday morning of Memorial Day weekend was absolutely beautiful...one of those days when you can't wait to head out for a morning ride on the bike. I drove to Bellbrook to ride with one of my friends as we planned a nice 38 mile route through Greene county. There was nice climb on Stewart Rd about 4 miles out as we made our way towards Xenia. It's one of those climbs that gets your attention by the time you get to the top. The heart rate really jumps and you are definitely awake when the climb is over. You can really feel that old ticker thumping away in your chest.

As we rode our bikes into Xenia, my friends cellphone was ringing. He answered it and informed me that my wife was on the phone. This can't be good news...there's no reason for her to be calling me at 9 in the morning. "Your Dad's having a heart attack and they are going to take him by careflight to Miami Valley". 30 miles away in Troy my father's heart wasn't working quite as well as mine.

And so I have been spending a lot of time at the hospital over the past few days. Open heart surgery took place on Tuesday and yesterday was a recovery day. On Wednesday, I got to help my Dad eat lunch and pay him back for all those mornings of giving me a bottle when I was a baby. It's strange how roles can reverse. But at least today, things are getting back to a more normal schedule.

He is recovering nicely but there is still a long way to go. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Hopefully, he will get to go home this weekend just in time for the Strawberry Festival, but those berries couldn't be sweeter than his return to health. What a ride this week has been!

Rain- o- Rain where art Thou?

I hope you're enjoying this unseasonably warm, hazy & humid weather because it's going to continue through the weekend. Jamie put some numbers together this afternoon & yes May was a dry month. Check it out below....

ACTUAL: 2.93"
AVERAGE: 3.89"
DEFECIT: -.96"

The good news is that it looks like a better chance for some scattered showers & thunderstorms will be heading our over the next few days. The past two days we've had a few spotty showers & thundershowers pop up around the Valley giving a few farmers alittle rain. Check out Live Doppler 2X this afternoon & see if you can spot one of those showers!!!

If you're heading to the Strawberry Festival in Troy this weekend have a great time.

Warm & Humid

Wow... I have to get used to no "Heros" on Monday nights!! That is going to be an adjustment! Do any of you watch that show? It is really good... and addicting... thankgoodness I have the blog to keep me busy! :)

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and a great Memorial Day! Thanks to all of you who stopped by our booth at Riverblast! What a great event!! I was amazed at the crowds, and what an awesome concert by Buddy Guy!

Throughout the weekend we did have to deal with the spotty showers/thunderstorms. That trend continued today! Areas South of I-70 mainly had a few light showers/sprinkles... but if you lived North of town, chances are you saw more than we did! Parts of Darke and Miami Counties picked up around an inch of rain! This was all thanks to, yes, another frontal boundary hung-up across the region!

This front should lift North of us on Tuesday. But look what that opens the door to:

Above is a map of today's high temperatures. We made it close to 80 at the airport... some of our Southern cities actually climbed into the lower/mid 80s. But farther to the South... there are mid-to-UPPER 80s showing up! And that WARMER air is headed our way as the front lifts north of us. We'll also see HUMID conditions through the week... it will feel more like summer, for sure!

Along with that warm/humid airmass comes the potential for isolated afternoon thunderstorms. I think most locations stay dry through the middle of the week, but we can't rule out a pop-up shower or thunderstorm. A better chance of rain will come with a stronger cold front next weekend... stay tuned!

Have a great evening...

Rain North

Hello, Bloggers!

Not much has changed in our thinking about the weekend weather from yesterday's blog entry. There is still a series of fronts that will effect us over the holiday weekend. As I type this, there are showers and thunderstorms in the Northern half of the Miami Valley, as that front is bi-secting the viewing area. Rain is falling along and north of that front (which also lines up with I-70). Here is a look at Live Doppler 2x from 6pm:

Click to see the CURRENT radar image

We think the rain will remain north this evening and overnight. On Saturday, the front will actually lift even farther to the north... keeping the rain threat minimal in the Southern Miami Valley. A spotty shower/thunderstorm is not out of the question... but most Southern communities should stay dry.

On Sunday, another cold front will swing through, and that will be the best chance of rain for everyone. The timing on any particular shower or thunderstorm is impossible to pin-point, thanks to the weak flow and stalled front. But there will be plenty of dry weather as the weekend goes on.

I know it's a tough situation... we NEED the rain... but with all the outdoor activities going on... we sort of hope it happens when it's convienent, right?? And that means we want NO rain for RIVERBLAST!! ;) Many of us from Channel 2 will be down at Riverscape for the fun on Saturday afternoon. It all gets started at 2pm, and continues through 10pm. We will have a big tent set up by the main stage... stop by and say hello! Erik and I will be there around 7pm, just in time for the FREE Buddy Guy concert at 8:30pm! He is a jazz/blues legend... you don't get a chance like this that often! Then, of course, there will be fireworks to follow! It really is a fun day of food, rides and entertainment... most of which is free! We hope you can make it!

Unsettled Weekend

The weather pattern setting up for this weekend is an unsettled one. Bad timing for the rain... on a holiday weekend... but we NEED the rain! Our chances start Friday late afternoon/evening as a cold front moves in. You can see the front on the map below, it is valid for 2pm Friday, and the front is just off to our west:

This front will continue to play a role in our weather through Saturday. The front will head back north during the day on Saturday leaving our area with a warm & humid day along with a few scattered showers & thunderstorms. The threat of a shower or thunderstorm could occur at any time on Saturday however we can expect to see a lot of dry weather as well. Another weak cool front will push across the Ohio Valley on Sunday bringing us another threat of scattered showers & thunderstorms. Right now it looks like this front will finally make it through the Miami Valley & bring us some drier conditions for Monday & Memorial Day.

This time of the year weather systems tend to really slow down & the latest weather models our having a tough time in pinpointing the timing & location of this front & precipitation. So stay tuned & we'll continue to bounce you around for the next few days. Hope you all have a great Memorial Day Weekend!

Above Normal Atlantic Hurricane Season Predicted...

Looks like it could be another rough season for our friends around the Gulf Coast and the Eastern Seaboard. NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) is predicting a 75% chance that we will have an above normal hurricane season (graphic on right). With 13-17 named storms, 7-10 Hurricanes, and 3-5 Major Hurricanes.

An average year in the Atlantic would bring 11 named storms with six becoming hurricanes, and two major hurricanes (Major Hurricanes are rated Category 3 or higher on the Saffir-Simpson Scale and have maximum sustained winds of 111 mph +).
So whats the reason for the Up-Trend in Hurricanes this year? The first reason is sea surface temperatures, (the source of a Hurricanes strength) which are expected to remain warmer then normal. The next reason is the El Nino / La Nina cycle. Last year an unexpected El Nino created a stronger jet steam over the east coast of the U.S., shearing apart (weird, but Hurricanes need calm conditions to form, things like jet streams and upper air systems tend to greatly weaken storms, and sometimes even suppress their formation!) and steering most systems away from the mainland. This year looks to be a neutral year, with the potential for La Nina to Develop. La Nina would have the opposite affect of an El Nino, creating weaker upper level winds over the east coast, meaning more storms will be allowed to form and strengthen. Forecasters at NOAA believe that if this La Nina does form, storm activity will likely be in the higher end of the range. But even if a La Nina does not develop, its looks like we will still remain above average this hurricane season (June 1st - November 30th).

To the right is a map of Major Hurricanes and there paths. Starting in 1995 we've entered a very active period for Major Hurricane development. In fact since 1995 (the last 12 years or so) we have seen 12 East Coast strikes, and 17 Gulf Coast Strikes, almost equal to all of the hurricanes seen between 1971-1994.

So far this year we've had one named storm, Subtropical (a hybrid of tropical and mid-latitude) Storm Adrea. The earliest named storm since Tropical Storm Arlene in 1981. Thankfully the peak of the season isn't until September, but time goes quick.
The next logical question is how will this affect us here in Ohio? With a higher number of Hurricanes, the chances go up for a land falling storms. And while we wont see a hurricane here, we could see some heavy tropical rains in the Miami Valley from those land falling storms.

Did you See Venus?

Saturday night some of our weather checkers and viewers sent in some pictures of the sky! Thanks!

That bright dot you see in the picture to the left is the moon. (courtesy of Virgene Mallonee)

The picture below was an image sent in from one of our weather checkers Jonathan Marker. The bright dot just the left of the moon is the Planet Venus!

Apparently Venus, although you can't see it in the image is also in a thin crescent just like the moon, but you'll need powerful binoculars or a small Telescope to pick that out.

Where-o-Where is Spring??

The normal high temperature for today here in the Miami Valley is 71°. Today all we could muster was the mid 50's. Tonight temps will slip into the upper 30's to near 40° & in some of the colder outlying areas there could be some patchy frost. I can't decide whether to turn the heat on or off!!! The long range outlook thought is for a nice warm up next week with afternoon highs back into the 70's to low 80's.

Last night the National Weather Service in Wilmington determined that a level EF0 tornado did touch down in Clark county Tuesday night. That is how tornados are determined... it's always the next day... a survey of damage is done, and by the nature of the damage... meteorologists then assign the tornado's strength. Here is a summary of the event:

...TORNADO CONFIRMED IN CLARK COUNTY...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CONDUCTED A STORM SURVEY TODAY NORTHEAST OF SPRINGFIELD IN CLARK COUNTY. DAMAGE OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY 3 MILES NORTHEAST OF THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD. THE TORNADO OCCURRED BETWEEN 1105 PM AND 1115 PM TUESDAY EVENING. THE DAMAGE OCCURRED IN A LOCATION OFF OF MOOREFIELD ROAD...JUST EAST OF ROUTE 4. TREES WERE EITHER UPROOTED OR WERE SNAPPED OFF TOWARD THE TOPS WITH ADDITIONAL LARGE BRANCHES DOWN FROM OTHER TREES. SOME MINOR STRUCTURAL DAMAGE OCCURRED AS WELL. THE DAMAGE PATH WAS APPROXIMATELY 250 YARDS LONG. THIS DAMAGE WAS CONSISTENT WITH AN EF0 (ENHANCED FUJITA SCALE ZERO)...WITH WIND SPEED ESTIMATES ROUGHLY BETWEEN 60 TO 80 MPH.

Also, we wanted to share this remarkable account of the big Greensburg tornado in Kansas a couple of weeks ago. It is truly amazing that these people stayed safe... this story is a must-read:

Quiet and Cool

What a difference a day makes! Yesterday afternoon we were up to 87 degrees... and at the same time today... we were in the mid-50s! Yea, that was a powerful cold front!

We got to see a little sunshine before it went down... but the clouds will be back by the morning! We are also expecting some spotty showers Thursday, perhaps a rumble of thunder. This is all thanks to an upper-level wave (at about 18,000 feet). You can see it swinging right over us on the map below... the big "x" surrounded by orange/yellow is our wave:

After that, high pressure builds in... just in time... for the WEEKEND!! Is anyone else ready for that already?! ;)

Here is a fun contest... get your creative juices flowing, bloggers! It's the Name the Falcons Contest! The Boonshoft Museum of Discovery is hosting its annual naming contest for Dayton's peregrine falcon chicks. This year there are three chicks, so naming contest submissions can include no more than three names (1 for each chick).

Entries should include name, address, phone number and email address of the contestant. Suggested names for the chicks should be clearly marked at the top of the entry. Deadline for submissions is Friday, May 25 at 5:00pm

To enter... email your suggestions to: Falcons@BoonshoftMuseum.org

If you'd rather send it in the old fashioned way, the address is:
Boonshoft Museum of Discovery
2600 DeWeese Parkway
Dayton, Ohio 45414

If you need inspiration, you can view the chicks on the FALCON CHICKS WEB CAM.

Let me know what you pick... how about some good weather-related names?!
Good luck!

Few Severe...

Some of our thunderstorms we have been tracking have strengthened over the past hour or so... and have prompeted a few warnings across the area. WIND and HAIL continue to be the main threats with these thunderstorms!

We are also seeing torrential rains and frequent lightning... with the reports of power outages in the Vandalia area. The airport actually reported a wind gust of 62 mph... Wow! We will continue to track these thunderstorms on Live Doppler 2X! Stay tuned!

Jamie

Evening Update

Just a quick update to the severe weather threat! It is pretty much diminishing for us! Most of the severe thunderstorms stayed to our North this evening.

We are still watching a line of thunderstorms just to the West of Richmond, IN. While they are not severe at this time, any one of them could produce an isolated severe wind gust. So we will continue to monitor this situation.

But it looks like most of us overall... will just see some scattered shower/thundershower activity. Otherwise expect a breezy night... and a much cooler tomorrow.

Jamie

Summer Today, Storms Tonight, Spring Tomorrow

Today's highs will remind you of mid-July instead of mid-May with highs in the mid 80s with increasing humidity. A cold front due to arrive tonight will bring a round of strong to severe thunderstorms primarily between the hours of 10 PM and 3 AM. Here is the latest outlook from the Storms Prediction Center.

The late evening early morning timing is such that there will be a greater risk of severe to our west across Illinois and Indiana. Stay tuned to 2News and Live Doppler 2x this evening to keep abreast of the latest with Jamie, Carl and EZ (Erik that is).

Quiet... for now....

I have noticed when the weather is exremely NICE... the blog is extremely SLOW... I hope you are all out there enjoying this beautiful evening!

What a great weekend, too! I hope all the mothers out there had a great Mother's Day! I had a wonderful Mother's-to-be Day! :) My husband and I went to church, out to breakfast, and then on a long walk with Mags. It was very nice!

Granted, we are all enjoying the comfortable conditions... but as noted in past blog entries... we NEED the rain right now! Our monthly rainfall defecit is now up to -1.76"... approaching 2" below average!! We typically see the most rainfall in May (4.17") than any other month of the year (besides June). Now we're half-way through the month, and only have a tenth of an inch of rain! We DO have the chance of rain TUESDAY evening... so hopefully we get a good soaking.

A cold front will be dropping in late Tuesday, and some of the thunderstorms it brings could be strong to severe. Damaging winds and hail will be the main threats... so we'll be tracking that Tuesday evening/overnight. Here is a new product from NCEP... it's called the "Simulated Radar Reflectivity"... and it shows what the radar might look like as the front comes through:

Let's hope that pans out... because if it doesn't... we will really be hurting...

We could also see a few showers on Thursday (although they would be light)... as an upper-level feature swings through. We'll take what we can get!

I hope you have a great evening, and turn to Live Doppler 2X to track the thunderstorms tomorrow!

Starting to Get Dry but not Bad....Yet

Here in the Miami Valley things are beginning to dry out. So far this Month we've only had one tenth of an inch of rain (Officially recorded at Dayton International Airport) and that was with some very spotty showers on the 5th.

Our last significant rain occured on April 26th with over half an inch, so its been about 2.5 weeks without a solid rain. But when you look at the nation... comparitively we are sitting pretty.

Florida, normaly a fairly wet state, is dealing with drought. Tampa Bay has recieved only 60% of their annual rainfall this year. And on the other side of the continent San Diego has only recieved 2.18" of rain. Only 29% of their normal 7.46 .
So will things get that bad here? Well right now we are "ok" and do have a good chance at perhaps a quarter inch or more of rain on Tuesday night, but after that we go back to a pretty cool and dry period for another 3-4 days.
The Climate Prediction Center has the plains staying fairly wet during the month, the east coast nice a dry, and us... on the fence. But looking at some longer range models, it looks like we'll be on the drier side of the scale as H pressure will continue to dominate our weather.
We need these High pressure systems that keep coming our way to head a little further east... and allow some moisture from the south, and some energy from the west to give us some good solid rains... and right now it doesn't look like that is going to happen.... for a little while anyway :)

Great weather here but not in Florida

Another unseasonably warm day here in the Miami Valley with temperatures this afternoon back into the 80's. The normal high for us this time of the year is 70. While we were enjoying this nice weather Floridians were having a hard time breathing & seeing. The smoke plumbs from the wildfires in Southern Georgia & Northern Florida have drifted into the West Coast of Florida lowering visibilities to 1/4 mile at times today. The picture below is Clearwater Beach this afternoon. People were warned to stay inside, pools & tennis courts were closed for most of the day. I was born & raised in Tampa & I can't remember a time when we had such miserable conditions. People with breathing problems must have had a rough day. The good news is that conditions will improve for the weekend.

The weekend looks great here in the Valley. Hope you have a chance to enjoy things outside & have a great Mother's Day.

We May Be Dry...

No... we ARE dry this May! So far these are our rainfall numbers for the month:

ACTUAL: .10"
AVERAGE: 1.34"
DEFECIT: -1.24"

It has only rained ONE day out of the past TEN! And there's not much hope in the extended forecast at this point. There may be a few passing showers Friday afternoon (but most locations will stay dry). Our next hope is a cold front that will effect us Tue/Wed of next week. Right now it looks like we could see some thunderstorms late Tuesday... let's hope... because we need it!

Subtropical Storm Andrea is now a Subtropical Depression... it has weakened since yesterday afternoon. Here is a look at the new forecast path, which keeps the center of the Depression out at sea:

Now for some good deed news... a local church is asking for your help in aiding the victims of the Kansas tornado. Ludlow Falls Congregation Christian in Miami County hopes to fill vans and trucks for a convoy scheduled to leave tomorrow night. It's heading for Haviland, Kansas... not far from Greensburg. The donations can be ANYTHING... as most of the people there lost EVERYTHING. Clothing... socks, clean underwear... bedding, pillows.... pots, pans... etc. You can also give cash, which the church will use to buy supplies... or to defray the cost of their trip to Kansas. The church is open tonight from 6 to 8... and tomorrow night from 5 to 8. It's located on Vine St. in Ludlow Falls. And just in case you need a reminder of the damage... here is a very good collection of pictures from Greensburg:

I hope you have a good night!

Another Nice Evening

We have certainly been lucky with the nice evenings lately! Last evening, I planted some geraniums in the yard, and it's starting to take shape. I have more to do, but tonight I am heading down to the Dayton Dragons game!

There is a weak cool front moving through the area this late afternoon, and if you live north of town, you may see a few passing showers. Once that band is through, though, the rest of the evening should be nice. Did you notice the temperatures drop as the clouds moved in? Many locations dropped from the lower 80s into the lower70s. A nice late-day cool off!

In other news, the first Atlantic storm of the year has formed... this early-season subtropical storm is named ANDREA. Andrea formed off the southeast coast, and is currently located about 100 miles southeast of Savannah, Georgia. A tropical storm watch is in effect along the southeast coast from Altamaha Sound, GA to Flagler Beach, FL. Here are the current stats and forecast path:

If you think it's too early for hurricane season, you're right! Andrea formed more than three weeks before the official start of the Atlantic Hurricane Season. Most locations in the path of Andrea will see about a half-inch of rainfall... but some spots could actually see closer to 2".
Here is a link to the list of the 2007 Hurricane Names:
Enjoy the nice evening,

Nice Weather Through Wednesday

No let up on the nice weather with just a few clouds floating around. Today highs will approach 80 degrees. You might hear a forecast for rain on Wednesday if you are driving through or live in Indiana. That rain shouldn't affect the Dayton area until Wed. night or Thursday...that is just how slow this system is translating to the east. Even then, we are only talking scattered areas of precip from this weather system.

Right now it looks like Mother's Day is shaping up to be really great. Highs should climb into the mid to upper 70s with plenty of sunshine.

If you are looking for something fun to do on Saturday, join us for the Young's Ice Cream Multiple Charity Ride Training/Rally Ride Number 2 at Xenia Station on Saturday morning. We will ride on the bike trail from Xenia to South Charleston and back....a distance of about 36 miles. You can always turn back earlier and make the ride shorter if you wish. When you come by, we will give you info on the main event itself which will take place on the 21st and 22nd of July. If nothing else, getting in shape on the bike is a good thing. Maybe it could be the start of training for your morning commute so you don't have to pay 3 bucks a gallon for gas! Below is a link for information on the charity bike ride. Enjoy the beautiful spring weather!

Magnificent Monday!

What a beautiful day across the Miami Valley! I hope you got to enjoy it. It did start off a little cool (or even chilly)... with a morning temperature in the mid-40s. But we warmed quickly under all that sunshine and made it up to 73 for the official high at Dayton International Airport. Some of our Weathercheckers were in the mid-70s... so it may have been a bit warmer in your backyard.

A big ridge of high pressure will continue to provide nice weather across the area over the next couple of days. Things start to change a bit late Wednesday. A very sloooow moving cold front will drop into the area then, bringing the chance of rain through Friday. The flow is very weak right now, and moisture will also be limited... so don't expect a second-half-of-the-week-wash-out or anything. Just some spotty afternoon showers. And it will still be warm... with highs in the upper 70s to near 80.

I hope you all had a great weekend! As I mentioned before, we had a busy weekend of events... with the Derby Day Dash and the Womens' Wellness Walk. Both had the highest pre-registration EVER... what a great turn-out for each event! It was a lot of fun! Below is a picture of me, Dr. Percy Mack (Dayton Superintendent), Bucher and his little girl, Chloe:

Dr. Mack was one of the celebrity grillers... and Buch was supposed to grill, too... but I think they kept him busy on other tasks, so they wouldn't have to call the fire department (as a previous blogger mentioned!) :) I walked with my husband, my dog Mags, and Chloe. It was a beautiful day... and all these weekend events raised money for such great causes!! Thanks to everyone that came out to support them!

Oh, one more thing... One of my dear friends lost her dog over the weekend. :( Her husband took the dog out in Springboro... to a big field to play fetch. Suddenly, the dog darted into the nearby woods (she must have seen/heard another animal... and her hunting instincts kicked in). Anyway, I know it's a long-shot... but if anyone out there has seen a chocolate lab wandering around in the southern Miami Valley... it could be Averi! Please drop me an email if you see/hear anything! Thank you!

Have a great evening,
Jamie

Cool Supercells

The image above is what the radar looked like a little before 11pm. You are looking at the state of Kansas... with quite a severe weather event going on! Do you see the thunderstorm that is farthest south on the radar? It's southwest of Witchita. That particular storm has several tornados ON THE GROUND!! Storm spotters and police have been chasing that twister for hours. I actually know a stormspotter who may be on this cell!

Spotters report a wedge-tornado, with a satellite tornado AND a rope tornado!! Amazing. I have dreams about this stuff...

Here is what the NWS is saying about it in their latest warning message:

AT 1023 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS WERE TRACKING A CONFIRMED LARGE AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TORNADO... THIS STORM HAS A HISTORY OF PRODUCING TORNADOES CAUSING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE! THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND LIFE THREATENING SITUATION. A LARGE TORNADO HAS BEEN CONFIRMED! IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS DESTRUCTIVE TORNADO...TAKE COVER IMMEDIATELY IN A BASEMENT OR OTHERUNDERGROUND SHELTER AND GET UNDER SOMETHING STURDY.

The bad part about it, is that it is very close to the town of Greensburg. Hopefully it will stay in mainly rural areas, so not as to do much damage to people's homes and businesses. But I bet we hear about the aftermath of this twister over the weekend.

OK... enough excitement... just scroll down to the next entry below for more on our weekend weather...

Jamie

50/50 Weekend

Hello, everyone!

I hope you had a good TGIF! We saw lots of clouds today, but some thin spots in those clouds during the late afternoon helped many of us climb into the lower and mid 70s for our highs today. It will be a bit cooler Saturday, as an upper level storm moves nearby. You can really see this disturbance spinning on the satellite late this afternoon:

Can you make it out? As of 5pm, it's the spin located in Western Kentucky. That area will lift up towards us, before it turns back down to the southeast. So we do have the chance of showers tonight... maybe even a few rumbles of thunder. Saturday will also start off with the chance of rain... lots of clouds... and thus, the cooler temperatures. As we head into the afternoon, we'll see a drying trend... and that will set us up for a beautiful Sunday!

A BIG ridge of high pressure will build in for Sunday, Monday, Tuesday... and on into the middle part of next week. That means a nice dry, warm stretch for the area! You can see the big ridge building in:

Now for some plugs... we hope to see you out at the DERBY DAY DASH Saturday morning! It's at Fifth/Third Plaza... at 9am. I will be there with Dan Edwards... it should be a great time... rain or shine! ;)

And on Sunday, is the WALK FOR WOMENS' WELLNESS... at 2pm at Carrollon Park. Channel 2 is sponsoring this event, so we will have many people out! I will be there, as well as Marsha Bonhart, Dave D'Marko, and *gasp* BUCHER!! I hear he is going to be in charge of cooking out... yikes! ;) It will be a beautiful day, and we hope to see you there!

Have a good TGIF evening!

I am not having a baby!! but the weather could be better

Hello bloggers,
Just a few lines this afternoon to let you know how tricky the weather forecasting will be the next few days. We will be located right on the Northern edge of moisture from a front to our south. This front will not be moving much for the next few days & will keep us with some clouds & the chance for showers especially along & south of I-70. The problem will be when & where the showers will form. This type of weather situation is always one of the toughest to forecast because we are right on the edge & any slight movment north or south can ruin a good forecast. Hopefully the models will start to agree over the next 24 hours to help us out.

Now my choice for Jamie's baby name. If it is a boy of course" Carl " is always a super choice. A girl.... "Carol "... not to shabby!

Carl Nichols
