Arctic Air in Place

Hello, and welcome to the Storm Team 2 Weather Blog! We are happy you found us, and we hope you become a freqent visitor/commenter. I actually started the weather blog at my old station in Kansas City... and it ended up becoming a pretty popular tool across the viewing area there. I hope the same thing happens here in the Miami Valley with THIS blog!!

This morning, the temperature dropped down to 7 degrees! It hasn't been that cold since LAST February... almost a year ago! This winter started off really mild for us, but the pattern has definitely shifted... as we are now in the deep freeze! We are currently in a TROUGH. That means colder than average temperatures... and snow chances will continue for us. Weak disturbances will rotate around the trough... they are unorganized... but enough to bring on and off light snow showers over the next few days. We're not expecting any big snows... but a dusting is possible in spots. You can always check where the snow is right NOW on Live Doppler 2X. It is the only radar in the Miami Valley that has the abillity to see the SNOW vs. RAIN!

On Saturday... another Arctic cold front comes through. That will bring us the COLDEST air we've seen yet!! Highs could be in the single digits... with lows near 0! We will keep you updated as we get closer to the weekend. If anything... Sunday will at least be a good day to stay INdoors to watch the Superbowl!

Now for a moving update... we have officially moved into our new home! Everything went smoothly on moving day... except for the fact that our bed wouldn't fit upstairs! Well, the mattress fit ok... but the box spring was a different story. Soooo now we are heading out to buy a "split queen" box spring. I never even knew there was such a thing! We keep saying we learn something new every day with this home-ownership thing! I would love to hear some of your home horror stories... or funnies... if you have anything to share! Just hit the comment button below!

That's all for now... bundle up!
